Trent Fledderjohann
What is your role at FAC?
As our staff and elders are responsible to corporately discern God's lead for Faith Alliance Church, my role is to provide organizational and spiritual oversight for these teams to ensure our ministries stay unified and moving in the same direction. This happens largely through the work of overseeing Sunday morning preaching content, overseeing our staff, leading our Elder and Deacon teams, and by staying actively involved in discipleship ministries. I also help with care and assimilation as needed.
How long have you been at FAC?
In January of 2016 I was hired as the Family & Discipleship Pastor with a plan to transition into the Lead Pastor role, which I formally started in January, 2017.
What do you love about being a part of the FAC family of faith?
Being from New Knoxville, God has given me a heart for the people and communities of this area. I love the unique reality that we're formed by people from all of the surrounding communities, we are fortunate to have the opportunity to be the hands and feet of Christ in almost all of the nearby towns, schools, and businesses. I love that we are part of a denomination that gives regular opportunities to travel the world and impact all nations. I love watching people from our family of faith live joyfully and selflessly for eternal, Christ-honoring purposes rather than purposes that only help their own family, friends, or town - that's not easy to do, but it is beautiful to see.
Tell us about your family and your interests outside of ministry.
On April 12, 2008 I married Stephanie, she is my best friend, an amazing wife and mother, and is my most faithful and steady source of encouragement. We have two boys, Harper and Victor, and two girls, Honor and Jorie; we live in the Marion Local school district. Stephanie says I'm interested in everything, but a few recent or long standing interests would be: seeing Christ and the Church expressed internationally, home renovations, triathlons, anything water/ocean-related (sailing, snorkeling, skiing, swimming, etc), sports, reading, Winslow Homer, new food, and shared experiences with family and friends.
What is your previous training, ministry, and mission experience?
I have a bachelor's degree in Social Work from BGSU (2007), a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary (2015), and am currently pursuing a degree in Ethical Leadership & Workplace Theology from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. I've volunteered or worked with Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Athlete's in Action, the Salvation Army, and Young Life Ministry. My professional experience is youth ministry for six years, school counseling for two years, and my current pastoral role at Faith Alliance since 2016. I've served on the Ohio Valley District's "District Executive Committee" for six years and in 2023 was certified as a Mediator through the Christian & Missionary Alliance's Peacemaking ministry. I have visited over 15 countries, which has heavily influenced my worldview and theology, I'm grateful for opportunities to regularly visit and support our global mission partners.
