Student/Missions Pastor

James Lampert

What is your role at FAC?

Student Pastor: I have the privilege to lead the junior high and high school ministries of the Church.  Preaching and teaching God’s Word is my greatest passion. I desire to see every student passionately pursuing Christ and His calling for their lives.

Missions Pastor: I oversee the missions ministry of the church.  I network with Christian and Missionary Alliance International Workers, to see how we can come alongside them to fulfill the Great Commission.  We also partner with E4 Project to serve those in Gabon and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

How long have you been at FAC?

Faith Alliance officially became my home church while I was still in high school in 2007.  In 2013, I began an internship at Faith Alliance that led into working specifically with the junior high ministry. In 2014, I transitioned into the Student Pastor. In 2016, I transitioned into the Missions Pastor as well.

What do you love about being a part of the FAC family of faith?

This is my family.  I came to know the Lord while attending Faith Alliance youth group back in 2005.  Several years later, God has graciously placed me in ministry here at Faith Alliance.  I am eternally grateful for Him and His Church. What drew me to Faith Alliance in my earlier years is their passion for Christ, and the true biblical gospel.  What I love about Faith Alliance is that this love for Christ and His gospel still remains, and always will.

Tell us about your family and your interests outside of ministry.

I married the love of my life, Kristin, on October 10, 2015.  It is awesome to not only journey through life together, but to serve with one another here at Faith Alliance. Outside of ministry, I simply enjoy being with Kristin.  We love traveling when we are able to; preferably to the mountains and to the beaches. I also enjoy sports, specifically football and mma.

What is your previous training, ministry, and mission experience?

I received my Bachelor of Science at Grace College and Seminary in 2013.  I have had the opportunity to serve on a variety of mission trips to Arizona, Philadelphia, Belize, Gabon, Ukraine, and Indonesia.

Worship and Care Pastor

Josh Kalichman

What is your role at FAC?

Worship and Care Pastor. As your worship pastor, my goal is to help create a space and time where we can experience God together. Worship is not the music or the singing, but the act of putting God at the center of our lives - to receive His love and grace and submit our lives to his good plans and purposes. Music is an incredible gift from God, so we use his blessing of music to praise Him with our voices.

As your Care Pastor, I'm honored to partner with our team of deacons and deaconesses to receive and respond to various needs among the church.

How long have you been at FAC?

Since September 2016.

What do you love about being a part of the FAC family of faith?

This community of Jesus-followers is fascinated by the goodness and beauty of God and His life-giving words to us in the Bible. I’m so glad to work among a community of people whose aim is to pattern their life after Jesus’ goodness, becoming life-givers to others as well. It’s amazing to see our strengths and weaknesses come together to honor God.

Tell us about your family and your interests outside of ministry.

I love my wife and two daughters. Spontaneous dancing and singing happens in our home every day. Other interests = playing the violin, arranging music, being outdoors, drinking seltzer water, imagining life in a tiny house...

What is your previous training, ministry, and mission experience?

Master’s in Music from Bowling Green State University; Music Ministry Director in Bowling Green, Ohio 2006-2010; Master’s in Counseling from Moody Theological Seminary; Disciple-Making Movements Apprenticeship 2013-2014; Living the great commission (Matt 28:19) in the Shenandoah Mountains, Metro-Detroit, briefly near the Mediterranean, and now in Auglaize County.

Trent Fledderjohann

Meet the Team

Trent Fledderjohann

What is your role at FAC?

As our leadership teams corporately discern God's leading for Faith Alliance, my role is to provide organizational and spiritual oversight for those teams to keep our ministries unified and moving in the same direction. I also handle the majority of Sunday morning content planning & preaching.

How long have you been at FAC?

I started working with FAC in 2016 as the Family & Discipleship Pastor. In January 2017 I transitioned into the Lead Pastor role.

What do you love about being a part of the FAC family of faith?

Due to the spiritual and cultural climate of our society, intergenerational church involvement is harder than ever. Despite that reality, our church has been growing increasingly diverse in demographics while preserving a strong sense of unity and committedness to the eternal truths laid out in scripture. Theological unity with social diversity - I think that's a good expression of God's kingdom in the world and I love that it's a reality at FAC. I'm excited to see how God will use the environment of our faith family to bring about transformation in the lives of people who do not yet fully know Jesus or understand the Good News.

Tell us about your family and your interests outside of ministry.

On April 12, 2008 I made a great decision and married Stephanie, she's my best friend, a great mom, and a big source of support and encouragement. We both graduated from New Knoxville. Together we have four children: Harper, he loves to read action books & FoxTrot; Honor, who wants to be a teacher like her mom; Jorie, she loves baby dolls; and Victor, who loves dinosaurs. Other interests: time with family and friends, home projects, reading, being outside, traveling, trying to exercise, Bengals, Buckeyes & Reds, monster cookies, and grilling burgers.

What is your previous training, ministry, and mission experience?

I have a bachelor's degree in social work from Bowling Green and a Master of Divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in Wilmore, KY. I volunteered for three years in college with Young Life and worked summers in urban ministry. After college I worked as a youth pastor for five years before taking a K-12 Guidance Counselor position for two years. I've served at FAC since 2016. I have been on short-term mission trips to Jamaica, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Mexico, Indonesia, Thailand, and India.

Mission & Vision

Mission & Vision

Mission

To see every follower of Jesus going and making disciples who are engaged in Christ-centered discipleship that is marked by loving sacrificially, leading always toward Jesus, teaching God’s word, and praying for one another daily.

We trust that every person who has a healthy relationship with Jesus is going to desire to share the Good News with others. The activity of sharing about Jesus is called making disciples, this is what Jesus told his followers to do before he ascended to heaven, we’re doing all we can to obey that command.  At FAC we emphasize the truth that God’s Church is made up of many parts, every single person has a place and a purpose in God’s family. It is the goal of our leadership team to continually be equipping and mobilizing all people for active ministry in the world. Our mission communicates how we plan to participate in discipleship once we are in relationship with someone who desires to live for Jesus. While each of these principles will always be present, the way that people express them will always look different. Let’s break down the four core components:

Love. Lead. Teach. Pray.

Loving sacrificially: John 13:35 says that the world will know we are disciples if we have love for one another. In the context of that writing it means that they will know we are disciples by the way we love other Christians. This does not support a neglect of love for the world, Jesus teaches that we are to love our enemies, it only means that we will especially love those who are followers of Jesus – they’re family, we’ll do anything for them!  Our goal is that we have a community of faith that doesn’t only attend church in the same place every week, but we truly love each other. We are willing to give time, resources, and energy to growing in faith together. We endure hardships together and we celebrate successes together. We’re here to love sacrificially.

Leading always toward Jesus:  In 1 Corinthians 11:1 Paul says, “imitate me as I imitate Christ.” This should be the goal of every Christian, that we can extend that same offer to the people we have the opportunity to lead toward Jesus. Discipleship is not only sharing knowledge, it’s not only scripture memory and time in prayer, it is doing life together. If there is someone we can help know more about Jesus we’re going to invest in their life. We’ll share meals, we’ll invite them into our homes, we’ll let them know we’re not perfect, we will talk about how Christians are to live in a world that is filled with people who don’t care much about obeying what’s taught in the Bible. Because we are always in pursuit of Jesus, if we ever lead anyone we will always be leading them toward Jesus – he is our goal, knowing Jesus is the prize.

Teaching God’s word: This is at the core of Jesus’ final command to his followers, “Go, make disciples, and TEACH THEM to obey all that I have commanded…” We believe the Bible is accurate and true, it is completely trustworthy. By teaching and obeying the word of God we are on the path to bringing Jesus glory and praise. If we teach anything contrary we no longer teach his commands, we teach our own, which are not always perfectly accurate and true. We know there are teachings in the Bible that are not very comfortable – we don’t always want to love our enemies – our desires sometimes go directly against what God asks of us. We believe there is more freedom and a more powerful testimony in submitting our lives to his word than there is in submitting his word to our lives. We’re committed to reading the Bible, learning what it says, and applying it to our lives as disciples of Jesus.

Praying daily for one another:  In 1 Thessalonians 5 we’re taught to, “pray without ceasing.” Prayer is the engine that keeps God’s Church on track. The follower of Jesus knows that God can accomplish what we cannot – he is infinitely more powerful and wise than we are. Our ability to lead well is limited and imperfect, we must continually lean on Jesus and trust him to work in us and through us. As we pray for those we disciple we welcome Jesus into the journey of growth. Jesus modeled a life of prayer, we hope to do the same. If you’re coming to discover Jesus or to grow in faith, you will be prayed for.

Vision

At Faith Alliance Church, our vision statement is to,

“Joyfully bring glory and praise to our Savior Jesus in all we do.”

It is our desire that this is the heartbeat of every person in our community of faith that is following after Jesus. We believe this way of living is a glimpse of heaven on earth, this is the abundant life that Jesus came to bring! Let’s look at the statement a little closer:

Joyfully…” – This is really important. Too often in the western world today Christians are portrayed as bored, uninspired, and grumpy. Throughout scripture we see time and again that God is the source of joy, overwhelming joy. A living relationship with Jesus gives us joy because we know his love now and joy because we have an indestructible hope for the perfect life to come. The joy of the Lord is so powerful that we are even told to, “rejoice in our sufferings.” At FAC we believe there is no greater thing than knowing Jesus, he leads us into a life of joy!

“Glory and praise…” – Jesus is worthy and deserving of all glory and praise. Scripture says that everything was created through Jesus and for Jesus. When we fulfill our purpose of worshiping Him then we can begin to know true joy and peace in this life. It is a powerful testimony and a beautiful image of God’s love when an entire community of believers unite in glorifying and praising Jesus – that’s our aim at FAC.

“To our Savior Jesus…” – Jesus is many things, but we choose to celebrate the reality that he is the Savior of the world. This is not only a primary focus at Faith Alliance, but it is at the core of the Christian and Missionary Alliance. God the Father offered up his only Son so that every person to ever live could have the opportunity to become a beloved child of God. If Jesus has set you free, you know this is worth celebrating! If you’re exploring the faith or desire to know more about freedom in Christ, we’re praying that you will join us to experience more of what it means to follow after Jesus.

“In all we do…” – We don’t believe in compartmentalizing faith. Church isn’t only on Sundays and Jesus cannot be put into a box. Christians don’t take vacations from Christian living, it’s our greatest joy to pursue Jesus at all times. This means that we want to create a culture where all followers of Jesus understand that they can worship Monday – Friday at work just as much as they can Sunday morning at church, we can worship in how we speak, parent, invest, vacation, and much more. All of life is worship, we’re hopeful that what we do as individuals who are part of FAC and what we do corporately as a church in our community, region, and world is all done in a way that Jesus is pleased with us.

Core Values

Our Values

Trust God's Word: His word alone is forever reliable and true.

Our society is in desperate need of something that is objectively reliable and true, the spread of relativism and absence of morality are wreaking havoc. God’s word is living and active, His word is more than words on a page – His Word became flesh and came to seek and save what is lost. Jesus, the embodiment of God’s word is worthy of all our trust. His word as recorded in scripture is also entirely reliable and true for all things concerning life and salvation. We hope our family of faith will grow in its ability to radically trust God’s Word.

Rest: Pausing with Jesus changes everything.

As we reflect on our own busyness, I imagine many of us are tired of hearing how tired others are. For the most part, we have significant say in what fills our schedule. If we’re too busy for Jesus, we’re too busy. Jesus promises us rest if we will go to him and abide in him. When we learn to give Jesus meaningful time, he begins to change us at a heart level – he truly transforms our desires and decisions from the inside out. We’re hopeful that every person in our faith family will learn to regularly rest in the presence of Christ.

Journey Together: We're called to love each other sacrificially.

The secular and spiritually minded in our society all agree that while people are more connected than ever electronically they’re also more relationally isolated and lonely than ever before. Jesus didn’t journey alone, nor did he send his disciples out alone. Jesus himself said, “greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” We’re encouraged to mourn & rejoice with one another, to confess our sins, to pray together, to gather for worship, to share our resources, and to consider others better than ourselves. God designed us to live in meaningful relationships. We’re hopeful that people of our church will risk being vulnerable and sacrificial with their time, emotions, and resources so that we avoid the temptation to journey alone. We’re better together.

The Lost & Forgotten: God's love is for all the world.

We believe this is the heart of God, to love all people, even those who are spiritually lost and socially forgotten. John 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he sent his only son…” Luke 19:10, “Jesus came to seek and save the lost.” One of the last commands Jesus gave to his followers was, “Go and make disciples of all nations…” Proverbs 14:31 says those who are generous to the poor honor God. Psalm 72 says, “may he defend the cause of the poor and defend the children of the needy and crush the oppressor.” We’re determined to not lose sight of those who are hard to reach in the world.

The Next Generation: Helping younger people become strong & courageous in Christ.

Our younger generations will face obstacles that haven’t yet been faced in our nation, we want to remain committed to creating space for them in our church family. This means we’ll need to be prepared for unique questions and perspectives and we’ll also need to be more focused in the way we go about equipping young people to navigate a culture that is increasingly anti-Christian. God has been gracious to bring our church family a strong number of children and young adults, we want to be focused and responsible with that gift he has given us.

Faith-filled Risk: God's plans are better than ours.

The Bible says we’re a people who walk by faith and not by sight, we’re hopeful that is a lived reality at Faith Alliance. Avoiding faith-filled risk leads to complacency and stagnation. The Bible is overflowing with examples of people who “stepped out of the boat” in obedience to God. We recognize that when God shows up in ways that are beyond the capability of any person, He receives all the glory, honor, and praise. His plans are way better than ours; we excited to go and see what God has in store for our church family!

Our Denomination

Our Denomination

What We Believe

There is one God,(1) who is infinitely perfect,(2) existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.(3)

Jesus Christ is the true God and the true man.(4) He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary.(5) He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust,(6) as a substitutionary sacrifice,(7) and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood.(8) He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures.(9) He is now at the right hand of Majesty on high as our great High Priest.(10) He will come again to establish His kingdom, righteousness and peace.(11)

The Holy Spirit is a divine person,(12) sent to indwell, guide, teach, empower the believer,(13) and convince the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment.(14)

The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of men. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.(15)

Man was originally created in the image and likeness of God:(16) he fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All men are born with a sinful nature,(17) are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ.(18) The portion of the impenitent and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment;(19) and that of the believer, in everlasting joy and bliss.(20)

Salvation has been provided through Jesus Christ for all men; and those who repent and believe in Him are born again of the Holy Spirit, receive the gift of eternal life, and become the children of God.(21)

It is the will of God that each believer should be filled with the Holy Spirit and be sanctified wholly,(22) being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to the will of God, thereby receiving power for holy living and effective service.(23) This is both a crisis and a progressive experience wrought in the life of the believer subsequent to conversion.(24)

Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body.(25) Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil are taught in the Scriptures and are privileges for the Church in this present age.(26)

The Church consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, and are born again of the Holy Spirit. Christ is the Head of the Body, the Church, (27) which has been commissioned by Him to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the gospel to all nations.(28) The local church is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together for the worship of God, for edification through the Word of God, for prayer, fellowship, the proclamation of the gospel, and observance of the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord’s Supper.(29)

There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life;(30) for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment.(31)

The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent(32) and will be personal, visible, and premillennial.(33) This is the believer’s blessed hope and is a vital truth which is an incentive to holy living and faithful service.(34)

Gospel Community Groups (GCG’s) are our way to connect and grow with others. GCG’s mostly meet on Wednesday evenings, but we have groups that meet in a variety of locations at a variety of times throughout the week. Whether you’re single, married, young or old, a life-long Christian, or just exploring the faith, we’d love to have you join us!
